Frequently Asked Questions

  • I see teenagers and adults. For parent child interaction therapy, I see the parent(s) with their child.

  • In our first appointment, we’ll talk about why you’re coming to therapy, and work to identify what you’d like to get out of therapy.

  • Some people might only want the support of a therapist for a short period of time. My opinion is that long term therapy (a year or more) tends to be better. The biggest predictor of success in therapy is the client-therapist relationship, and it will take time for us to build a strong relationship.

  • I do not see people bi-weekly at the start of treatment. The biggest predictor of success in therapy is the client-therapist relationship and it’ll be hard for us to build a strong relationship if we are only seeing each other twice a month.

  • I accept some insurances, including United and Aetna. Please inquire directly about using your insurance. I am licensed in multiple states and my ability to accept your insurance plan depends on the state you reside in.

Outside of those plans, I do not accept insurance directly. However, if you have PPO insurance, I am able to provide a superbill for you to file with your insurance company for reimbursement. Check with your insurance company directly to find out what’s covered.

  • Appointments canceled less than 24 hours prior to the set appointment time will be charged the full session fee.

  • I have a limited number of sliding scale slots for clients who cannot afford my full fee. Please inquire about sliding scale spot availability when we consult if the full fee is unaffordable for you.
